Blog #13:Research Plan


RESEARCH PLAN
FOCUS
·         How a session begins taking place, how the material is introduced between the tutor and writer.

QUESTIONS
1.       How does the very first minute of the session take place?
2.      How are the two strangers introduced to each other?
a.      What is the setting here? What is the atmosphere like between the tutor and writer, is there an immediate wall demonstrated or
3.      How does the tutor familiarize him/herself with the piece that’s brought in
a.      does the student explain what the piece is about
b.      does the student send the paper to the tutor before hand so the tutor will be familiar with the piece?
4.      Does the tutor ask questions?
a.      What is this piece about?
b.      What do you (the writer) expect to come out of this paper?
c.       Is this paper on focus?
d.      Are there any particular details your professor expects to have mastered for this paper?
e.      Do you have a formed thesis of this paper?
5.      Does the tutor take interest in what is being worked on?
a.      What actions are taken to show that s/he is intrigued? Describe.
b.      When advising on  how to re-word or better state that, does s/he do it out of spite?
                                   i.      Or does s/he take full interest in the piece being worked on?


List of information I need to gather:
·         Observations of how a session begins to take place
      o    What is the beginning energy?
§  Does that energy fall or rise?
     o    Is there excitement about the paper?
      o   Or is the paper introduced in a negtive mode?
·         How comfortable the atmosphere is between the tutor and writer.
·         The description of the material being worked on?
            o   Is it described in details?
            o   Is it broadly introduced and ripped apart as they go along  through the paper.
            o   Does the tutor ask the questions first with regards to the paper
                     §  Or does the writer describe his/her paper?
