- Writing Center will be located withing a community College. Didn't see too many signs of a writing center in my previous C.C.
- Will be made for a diverse ream of students. (mainly for the students) but open to all.
- Faculty will of course be very welcome to come in and help out and support the W.C.
- I want to have my center be posted anywhere possible to bring as many students in as possible to show them that we are an organized community here to caress their writing problems and help solve any issues possible.
- My wording will not be jargonny- As viewed in Michigan state, it is very intimidating, (I, now as a student feel as though they are too high class, and wouldn't be able to help me). I will use common language but also of some sophistication to prove our writing center is based on proper writing.
- The layout of my writing center will be very warm and welcoming. I imagine it to have a very similar style to a cafe, with comfortable seats (couches of some sort) and unique tables. Maybe even have a starbucks in it (why not, if it's all up to me).
- The regulations and organization will be flexible but mostly disciplinary I will lay out a set of rules that will explain that we are in charge. We are not to be questioned on what we do. I want to show that we do have some sort of a hierarchy in the center, and not that each person gets to do a little bit of everything. There will be certain people signed up for certain tasks and we will stick to that.
- I definitely appreciate the peer v. peer tutoring style therefore I will have my Center based on students in the classroom. I would really apreciate having a variety of students come in therefore I will have a variety of peers tutoring. Peers on different backgrounds and of different school levels (undergrads & grads).
